Antoinette started ballet at 12 years old,
went to Elmburst Ballet School in Surrey England for 5 years. Later,
she went to London and studied with Valentin Zeglovsky (Ballet Russe
de Monte Carlo) for 3 years. Antoinette also took lessons from Brian
Shaw (Royal Ballet), and Royal Ballet Prima ballerina, Monica Mason,
who is now currently director of the Royal Ballet, and was the
ballerina that Kenneth Macmillan created “Rite of Spring” on.
Antoinette took classes from Monica at Convent Garden, and at the
Royal Ballet School, and Monica sponsored her to go and study in
Russia. However, at that time, the British Council was giving only
one award to the arts, and it went to a violinist.
Antoinette started her ballet career in Rome, and took a position as
a soloist and corps de ballet with the Valerie Lombardy Company in
Rome. During this period Antoinette studied with maestro Vladimir
Lupov, (Kirov Ballet); also took private lessons with Margarita
Trainova (prima ballerina of Bulgaria,) who was a guest artist for
the Valerie Lombardy Company at that time....read
